Why am I taking Texas Politics and Government?

The short and sweet of it seems to be because of the Texas collegiate bureaucracy being money hungry and their making more classes mandatory ensuring greater tuition revenues. Although honestly I could have taken U.S. Govt 2 instead of this class I choose this course for a couple reasons though, first is that I believe everyone should be informed if not involved in the political process and at the local level is where I believe the most can be accomplished, at least when it comes to what affects us most directly in our daily lives.  Secondly because I felt I had more to learn from this class personally, that is I mean I feel like I already have a good grasp of the federal system of government and am more curious about how the state government works.
